Cultural Olympiad - Task 9, Evaluation

Evaluation
For this assignment, I was working independently instead of working as part of a team. I made this decision as I wanted full control over the work I was producing. My creative approach to this was based on secrecy and similar designs to get the audience interested without giving out loads of information that may, in the long run, push the potential viewer away.

To create the poster and TV image for this assignment; I used Adobe Illustrator CS3. The main tool I used throughout was “Live Trace”. This turns the image into a vector image; this will simplify the image and make it easier on the eye. As I want to become a Graphic Designer in the future, I put the skills that I have learned on this course into my work to produce a series of graphic images. Not only this, I believe that visual images are the strongest strategy.

As I was working on my own for this assignment, I did not have a particular time management. Instead, every lesson I tried to get as much done as I could in the time I was given – along with completing work at home, which helped in the long run. If I’m honest, I felt, the whole assignment was a challenge. This is because I didn’t fully understand the task I was given. Also, the main problem the Cultural Olympiad has, is it’s marketing strategy, so to be asked to do something that the real organisers themselves cannot do, was a challenge.
